THE ASEMPA STORY

It started in 1992 with Kris Kunkel and Alex (BB) Lanbon and a boombox.  That's the short version!

Financial gifts are collected through a secure online portal and then sent to specific projects identified by our team at Asempa Global Academy.  For the year 2023, the critical projects that match our vision and mission are the following:

• Four Classrooms at a total cost of $32,000

We believe in doing everything we can to remove obstacles to your partnership with Asempa Global Academy. 

This includes providing a clear and transparent description of how the financial support works logistically:

• Our partner, Hope Lutheran Church, in Seattle WA, has determined that Asempa Global Academy is part of their charitable mission.
• This website exists as an information portal to help you understand what it looks like to be a charitable partner in the mission of Asempa Global to "give good news to kids."
• By giving to Asempa Global Academy through the Hope Lutheran Church portal, you partner with many other individuals and groups to directly assist a charitable and educational cause in Ghana, West Africa through a governmentally-recognized private school.
• This website will offer a transparent and consistent picture of how partner funds impact designated projects for each year.  You can find out more about the projects on the "projects" page on this website.
• Furthermore, we plan to include trips for partners to personally meet the staff and children of Asempa Global Academy and see the impact of their donations.

We are keenly aware of fundraising ethics and government legal requirements which are highly restrictive in this case (and for good reason).  We want to make sure that we are carefully stewarding all funds.

For the foreseeable future, we are focused on building a safe learning environment for the children.  

Your participation as an Asempa Partner -- sharing the Asempa story with your friends and family, and helping Asempa Academy financially -- makes this possible!
